Dan Haggerty is a distinguished Anchor/Reporter at WRAL whose career in front of the camera has spanned across several states, showcasing his versatility and dedication to journalism. He also anchors the WRAL News at 4pm, 5:30 and 7pm on weeknights and has a specialty segment called In-Depth with Dan Haggerty.

Dan started his journey as a Photographer in Steubenville, OH, Dan transitioned to become an anchor and reporter, making stops in Fort Myers, FL; Cleveland, OH; San Diego, CA; Dallas, TX; Portland, OR; and Raleigh, NC. Along the way, he has gained recognition for his exceptional work, earning four regional Emmy awards for both Anchoring and Reporting.

In 2020, Dan co-created and anchored a show weeknights at 6 p.m. in Portland, Oregon, which received the prestigious Edward R. Murrow award for Excellence in Innovation, highlighting his commitment to groundbreaking journalism.

A graduate of Ohio University, Dan's roots trace back to Wheeling, WV, where he was born and raised. Outside of his professional pursuits, Dan finds solace in spending quality time with his family, prioritizing fitness, and indulging in every Marvel movie ever created.

Dan is married to WRAL Investigative Reporter/Documentary Producer Cristin Severance, and they are proud parents of twin sons. Residing in North Carolina, Dan cherishes the opportunity for small talk and encourages anyone who crosses his path to say hello.

Throughout his career, Dan has covered significant events, including the social unrest in Portland, OR, which endured for over 100 nights. His unwavering commitment to delivering impactful news stories underscores his dedication to serving his community and the broader audience.
