Anthony Baglione is a seasoned meteorologist currently contributing his expertise to the WRAL team, where he brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of North Carolina's dynamic weather patterns.
Before joining WRAL, Anthony honed his skills closer to the coast in the picturesque town of New Bern, North Carolina, where he served as a meteorologist at WCTI. There, he covered a spectrum of weather events, ranging from the ferocity of Hurricane Isaias to the dangers of rip currents and the impact of an EF-3 tornado touchdown in the northern counties. Anthony's tenure in New Bern acquainted him intimately with the diverse and sometimes unpredictable weather phenomena that characterize the region.
Anthony's journey in meteorology began in Waterloo, Iowa, where he launched his on-air career at KWWL. It was during this time that he also pursued his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology at Iowa State University, graduating in 2020. His passion for weather was nurtured amidst the Midwestern plains, where he had the exhilarating experience of storm chasing during his college years, culminating in witnessing his first funnel cloud.
Born in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Anthony's love for the outdoors extends beyond his professional pursuits. When he's not analyzing weather patterns, you can find him enjoying quality time with his beagle, Doppler, exploring the outdoors, staying active with workouts, or indulging in his love for fishing along the North Carolina coast.
Anthony's appreciation for North Carolina extends beyond its weather. He particularly revels in the abundance of trees, despite the occasional allergy season inconvenience, as they maintain the state's natural allure. Moreover, he's an avid advocate for the state's stunning beaches, relishing in their proximity and the opportunity they afford for relaxation and recreation.
With his wealth of experience, deep-rooted passion for meteorology, and genuine love for North Carolina's diverse landscape, Anthony Baglione continues to be an invaluable asset to the WRAL team, keeping viewers informed and safe in the face of Mother Nature's whims.
